Red Ochre research on the interaction between Government and faith groups published
The Community Development Foundation (CDF) distributed and managed two rounds of government grants – The Faith Communities Capacity Building Fund. The funds were used to capacity build faith groups and in particular to improve delivery of community projects. Much of this work required faith groups to interact with local and regional government.
Red Ochre was commissioned by CDF to undertake research and analyse the experiences of the interaction between the funded faith groups and local and regional government. The research is published as a book by CDF (Faith Groups and Government). The book analyses the experiences, challenges and successes from both sides and recommends ways of improving communication and positive engagement.
The book was published to coincide with the launch of the Government's inter faith strategy Face to Face and Side by Side: A framework for a multifaith society on July 21st. The event was hosted by Rt. Hon Hazel Blears MP, Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government who is seen here receiving a copy of the book from Rita Fentener and Uday Thakkar from Red Ochre.
The book is now available on the CDF website.
