Learning Outcomes
The learner will:
- Investigate the nature of enterprise capabilities and the importance of enterprise capabilities to the world of work
- Develop communication skills, with a strong emphasis on the importance of developing an effective argument
- Investigate the nature of enterprise capabilities in profit and not for profit organisations
The learner can:
- Identify key enterprise characteristics and capabilities and their importance to the world of work
- Understand that decisions made by organisations and individuals affect the community in which they are based
- Understand the importance of listening to and developing ideas based upon stakeholder opinions
- Plan and deliver a well structured/persuasive argument
- Understand the concepts of consumerism and anti-consumerism
- Understand the need for sustainable development
- Explore how to identify and respond to ethical issues
- Explain the need for enterprise capabilities in not for profit organisations and social enterprises
The learner will:
Plan and implement a project and evaluate its success
The learner can:
- Identify and explore project opportunities
- Understand the importance of developing a project plan
- Develop a project aim/mission statement and set objectives to carry it out
- Identify the opportunity cost of undertaking the project
- Make appropriate decisions when balancing the potential risk in a project against the potential rewards
- Understand and make use of financial tools to aid in business decision making and reviewing project success
- Measure how successful a project has been
- Relate planning and evaluation and enterprise capabilities to education and work
